A rare 19th century retablo on heavy gauge tin which depicts San Francisco de Paula with celestial light radiating from above. In the upper quadrant, there is a small cartouche which is inscribed, "caritas" or "charity;" a direct reference to San Francisco's patronage. San Francisco is also patron saint of the blind. An all around great 19th century folk retablo. Dimensions are 14" x 10" plus additional frame. Condition: excellent.
